Axa appoints Bob Wotherspoon as area sales manager for protection

Axa has appointed Bob Wotherspoon as protection sales manager for the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The appointment is part of Axa’s plan to increase its protection sales team by half by the end of the year.

Wotherspoon’s role will include recruiting and managing protection account managers across his region and raising the profile of the Axa protection account in the market.

Wotherspoon has been Axa’s protection account manager since April and worked at Friends Provident for 12 years previously.

He says: “It is an exciting time at Axa and within the protection market in general and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
