Aviva is making 330 staff redundant from the Morcambe and Darlington RAC call centres.
The Morecambe site, dealing with insurance sales and customer service, will close in November creating 120 job losses.
Darlington, dealing with insurance customer service, will shut down by April 2006, losing 210 jobs.
The workload of both closed sites will pass to call centres in Norwich and Bristol.
The redundancies follow the acquisition of RAC in May by Aviva and its subsequent integration with NU General Insurance.
In May, the deal forecasted 1700 job losses overall.
The company vows to help all those affected find alternative employment.
RAC Insurance director of operations Scott Egan says: “
It is always difficult to make this kind of decision but we have to ensure that our business is fit for the future.”
