Aviva has named Paul Abberley as interim chief executive for Aviva Investors, following the departure of Alain Dromer last month.
Abberley (pictured) is currently chief executive of Aviva Investors London and global investment solutions, and will assume responsibility for the global business immediately; he will also join the Aviva Group executive committee.
The interim chief executive joined Aviva Investors on its launch in September 2008.
Pat Regan, chairman of Aviva Investors and chief financial officer of Aviva, says: “Paul has a strong track record in the asset management industry, and he has successfully led and grown Aviva Investors’ London business since its inception.
“He brings an in-depth understanding of Aviva Investors’ operational and investment activities to the group executive and his interim appointment will facilitate a smooth transition following the departure of Alain Dromer.” (article continues below)
He adds: “Over the coming months we will be working through the process of recruiting a permanent chief executive officer and will be considering both internal and external candidates for this role.”
Abberley was previously was London chief executive at ABN Amro Asset Management and global head of fixed income at Lombard Odier.
