Aviva has appointed Andrew Moss as group finance director to replace Mike Biggs who left the company at the end of last year.
Moss, 45, is an accountant and currently Lloyd's of London's director of finance, risk management and operations and is credited with playing a key role in transforming the business, including the move from three-year to one-year accounting and managing the aftermath of the September 11 tragedy.
Before joining Lloyd's in September 2000, he held senior international management positions at HSBC, rising to chief financial officer for the investment bank and treasury businesses.
Aviva group chief executive Richard Harvey says: “Andrew has the right combination of skills and experience we're looking for, particularly given the increasingly international nature of our business.”
