Avery to be non-exec at Openwork

Openwork has appointed former Legal & General director Kate Avery as a non-executive director.

Avery was group executive director of wealth at L&G and before that spent 18 years at Barclays in roles including managing director of Barclays’ Stockbroking arm and Barclays Personal Investment Management. She is a fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Openwork chief executive Keith Carby says: “We are delighted to have attracted someone of Kate’s track record, capabilities and experience. We expect the next few years to be an exciting period for Openwork and the strength of our board will help us make the most of our opportunities.

“Kate has a deep understanding of our business and an extensive experience of the standards of governance expected of an industry leader. The appointment is a big win for Openwork.”

Avery says: “I am delighted to be joining Openwork and look forward to helping shape a successful future for all its stakeholders, not least its customers.”
