Assureweb’s new system delayed until next year

Assureweb says its system upgrade has been delayed until next year.

A spokeswoman says the delivery of Assureweb’s new open architecture system has been delayed from October 2008 until the first quarter of 2009 although some providers say they had expected the new system in February this year.

The spokeswoman says: “Due to the scale and complexity of the project, it has taken a little longer than planned.”

She says the portal has been working on the major overhaul for two years and the system is “currently in the final phases of testing and is expected to go live early in quarter one 2009”.

She says the delay has not affected users and business on the portal has increased by 30 per cent in the last year.

The spokeswoman says: “Given this is an internal architecture programme and not a service launch, it is and has always been a work in progress. The emphasis is on getting the proposition right and not delivering at a fixed date.”

In this week’s edition of Money Marketing we stated Assureweb’s accounts were three months late. This is not the case. All accounts and returns are appropriately filed at Companies House. Accounts for the year ended May 31, 2008 were signed off on October 3, 2008 are not due to be filed at Companies House until March 31, 2009.
