Armstrong Investment Management comes to market

Patrick Armstrong and Ana Cukic Armstrong, formerly co-heads of Insight’s multi-asset desk, have launched their own firm.

The duo say Armstrong Investment Management (AIM) is intended to sit between the traditional and alternative fund space, and will serve the pensions and wealth management markets.

The firm will manage assets on a customised and pooled fund basis. Further details of its first services and product offerings will be released over the summer.

Toby Hayes, previously a portfolio manager on Insight’s multi-asset team, is involved with the new venture as partner and portfolio manager. He also previously worked with the Armstrongs at UBS.

Vlade Milanovic is a quantitative analyst and risk manager at AIM. He previously worked as a quantitative analyst at New Bond Street Asset Management.

Patrick Armstrong says many investors have been disappointed by “faceless organisations” and “outdated” investment products, which makes now the ideal time for his company to come to the marketplace.

The pair quit Insight in November and were replaced by Michael Pinggera, formerly of Credit Suisse.

They managed three diversified portfolios for the group – Diversified Dynamic Return, Diversified High Income and Diversified Target Return – as well as the UK Dynamic Managed and Wealth Builder Balanced funds.
