Armstrong IM mulls restructure as founders split

Armstrong Investment Managers is currently in talks about the future of the company after founders Ana Armstrong and Patrick Armstrong filed for divorce.

The couple have decided to go their separate ways and are in contact with the regulator to discuss the future of their business, which is likely to be restructured.

The duo manage the £35.7m IM Distinction Diversified Real Return fund and the £20.5m Armstrong Diversified Dynamic Solution fund.

According to FE Analytics, the IM Distinction Diversified Real Return fund is ranked fourth quartile in the IMA Mixed Investment 20%-60% sector over one and three years to 25 June 2013, as well as over three and six months.

Armstrong Diversified Dynamic Solution is ranked third quartile in the offshore Mixed Asset – Flexible sector over one year and first quartile over three years.

Ana and Patrick founded Armstrong Investment Managers in 2009 after leaving Insight Investment. Ana is chief executive of the firm and Patrick is chief investment officer.

Prior to Insight, both worked at UBS. 

In February, the firm hired Vincent Tournant as chief operating officer as part of plans for a “structured expansion” of the company.
