Aon&#39s Sipp features choice and control

Aon Consulting is offering a self-invested pension plan which it says offers the widest possible investment range while retaining maximum control.

The Sipp is available from Aon&#39s executive benefits practice. It can invest across the spectrum of permitted investments, including commercial property.

The plan offers a sub-trust facility which allows members to become joint trustees with Aon Sipp Trustees to have greater control of their fund.

Members can appoint an investment manager or adviser of their choice or can direct the investment themselves.

There is a flat fee charging structure with an initial charge of £500 and an annual charge of £500. Fees for more complex transactions such as commercial property purchases are calculated on a time-cost basis.

Senior consultant Eileen Imrie says: “There are many Sipps available, ranging from fairly rigid insured contracts to bespoke arrangements offering total flexibility. Unfortunately, there are not enough truly bespoke Sipps. We have identified a number of weaknesses with many Sipps, and we feel we have addressed these.”
