AON cuts 3,000 staff

Insurance broker AON is to cut 3,000 jobs as part of a restructuring plan.

AON says the job losses will mainly be from its brokerage businesses in the UK and US and will be made at all staff levels.

Analysts suggest aggressive expansion by AON through acquisitions has led to the cuts.
