Another Standard Life hire for Nucleus

Nucleus has appointed former Standard Life senior manager of platform investments Jeff Spence to the role of wrap operations director.

Spence will manage the day-to-day operation of the wrap and will also oversee the relationships with third party administrator Scottish Friendly and other key suppliers.

The appointment is the third Standard Life hire for Nucleus this year. Nucleus appointed former Standard Life Savings chief operating officer Aileen Mathieson as its new chief financial officer in January, with former Standard Life head of legal for wrap business Leanne Prowse joining Nucleus earlier this month as head of legal, risk and compliance.

Nucleus has also appointed Richard Evans as technical operations manager. Evans will be responsible for managing the wrap’s system performance and managing internal IT systems.

Evans joins from online digital exchange LeadX.

Both Evans and Spence will report to chief operations officer Andrew Smith.

Chief executive David Ferguson (pictured) says: “These appointments are further confirmation of our desire to recruit the brightest talent in the retail financial services industry and are all significant additions as we seek to execute our growth strategy.
