Annuity Bureau guide to pensions

The Annuity Bureau is publishing a free guide for those close to retirement aimed at helping them get the most out of their pension pot.

The 28-page You and Your Annuity guide has information about the full range of annuities currently on the market, including standard and escalating, impaired life and geo-socio annuities as well as up-to-date information on open market option.

The Bureau says annuities have earned a high profile since the publication of the Government consultation document Modernising Annuities and the guide aims to explain these changes.

The guide features case studies and has tick boxes at the end of each section to help the reader keep track of their specific requirements.

Head of marketing David Marlow says: “The reductions in income rates for standard annuities, allied to product innovation, have given retirees a lot to think about. There has been so much change in the annuities marketplace, consumers can barely keep pace.”
