AMP unfurls umbrella

AMP has appointed a managing director for its UK financial services businesses to bring them all under the AMP umbrella.

Tom Fraser joins AMP from CGNU, where he was managing director of European business. He was also NU International executive director.

His role will be to turn AMP&#39s UK financial services businesses, including Henderson Investors, London Life, NPI, Pearl Assurance and Virgin Direct, into a single integrated organisation.

Each company will retain its brand but each will carry an AMP endorsement.

AMP has stated its continuing support for direct sales after the withdrawal of Prudential and Sun Life Financial of Canada salesforces.

Spokeswoman Emma Chilcott says: “We are committed to direct sales and we are always looking to recruit.”
