Alliance Trust Savings poaches Cofunds sales team manager

Alliance Trust Savings has hired Cofunds sales development team manager Damian Smyth as head of intermediary sales.

Smyth will take up his new position on December 1, having spent more than 13 years at Cofunds in various sales roles.

ATS managing director Patrick Mill says: “I am delighted to welcome Damian on board. The level of interest in this position illustrates that people share our view that Alliance Trust Savings is ideally placed to become a significant player in the advised platform market.

“Damian’s platform background and the fact he has been involved in the growth of Cofunds from the beginning means he is ideally placed to develop the intermediary channel for ATS and the continued expansion that is planned.”

Smyth says: “Alliance Trust Savings has ambitious plans for the continued growth of this channel and I am eager to lead and drive these forward. It has a hugely attractive proposition for intermediaries with its distinct flat fee charging model and broad investment range.”
