Alliance & Leicester is streamlining its online application system to speed up and simplify the mortgage application process for intermediaries.
Paper-based applications used with online submissions are being replaced by a customer declaration document which needs to be returned before completion.
A&L says it is now getting 90 per cent of its applications online and will continue to invest in technology to service the intermediary sector. It says the development takes away the need for a paper application which should save intermediaries time. It say it has introduced the system following feedback from intermediaries.
Head of intermediary mortgages Merhad Yousefi says: “This development should make the application process as simple and straightforward as possible. Our commitment in the intermediary market means that we are constantly seeking feedback from our intermediaries and looking at ways to improve our service offering.”
