AJ Bell second adviser platform to offer Lifetime Isa

Bell-Andy-2017-CUTAJ Bell has launched a stocks and shares Lifetime Isa on the Investcentre platform, becoming the second adviser platform to offer the product since it launched in April last year.

Transact was the first adviser platform to offer the Lifetime Isa.

AJ Bell started offering a Lifetime Isa on its direct platform in June last year.

The Investcentre offering will have access to the platform’s full range of investments including the passive fund range and the managed portfolio service.

There is no set up charge for the Lifetime Isa and the annual custody charge is tiered based on fund size across all accounts held on the platform. The charges are:

  • 0.2 per cent for assets up to £1m
  • 0.15 per cent between £1m and £1.5m
  • 0.1 per cent between £1.5m and £2m
  • Zero above £2m

Online dealing ranges from zero for regular investments to £3.95 for one-off trades.

Lifetime Isa one year on: Will a colourful product fade away?

For 2018, AJ Bell is waiving its platform fee for investments into its passive funds.

AJ Bell chief executive Andy Bell says: “Advisers have indicated to us that there is demand for Lifetime Isas from some of their clients and so we are adding it to the platform for them.”

Bell says: “Our aim is to make investing easy for advisers and their clients and having the full range of investment accounts available via our platform enables them to maximise the tax efficiency of their portfolios in one place.”
