AJ Bell Pensions appoints Richard Taylor as MD

Richard Taylor has been appointed as managing director of AJ Bell Pensions.

Taylor will be responsible for AJ Bell’s Ssas and Sipp business, working alongside Charles Galbraith who is managing director of Lawshare, A J Bell’s stockbroking arm. Andy Bell will remain chief executive of the entire AJ Bell Group.

Taylor joined the company in 2005 as legal and technical director, having worked for a number of pension providers, including National Mutual for 17 years.

AJ Bell Group chief executive Andy Bell says: “This latest senior management appointment is a natural extension of our success and growth. As well as being natural leaders, Richard and Charles both possess an encyclopedic knowledge of their respective business areas. This appointment will afford me more time to develop and implement our strategic ambitions.

“We are entering an exciting phase of development at A J Bell. Despite difficult market conditions, our business continues to experience growth with funds under administration in our pension and stockbroking divisions in excess of £8bn and Sipp numbers having increased to 32,000. We are well placed to consolidate our place as one of the big four Sipp providers.”
