Aifa to recruit new policy director

Aifa has announced it will not be recruiting a new deputy director general to replace Fay Goddard, but is instead looking for candidates to fill the new role of policy director.

Director general Chris Cummings says the role involves heading up the policy team, which provides support to members of Aifa, AMI and AFB.

Cummings says: “The director of policy role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to influence the future direction of financial services policy. Current market conditions make the value of good advice more important than ever and Aifa has a key role to play in this.

“We had one of our best years for member recruitment in 2007 and Aifa now represents over 80 per cent of the IFA profession. Following the success of our Manifesto for Advice we plan to build on this platform throughout the year.”
