Aifa has announced plans for a program of seminars to assist IFAs with the development of a fee-based business model, to be led by FP Advance managing director Brett Davidson.
Aifa and FP Advance say the seminars follow requests from members who wish to further develop their existing fee charging structures, transfer to a fee-based model or find out more about operating wrap-based models.
Organisers say the seminars, scheduled to start in September, will also offer advisers information to help them decide whether to keep their current business model or to move to one based on recurring income and ongoing advice.
Aifa director general Chris Cummings says: “Aifa is responding to the requests of our members by holding these seminars. More and more IFAs wish to find out about how to move to a wrap based business model, develop a fee business and build embedded value in their firm. These seminars provide answers to those questions.
“One industry trend driving the move towards fee based models is wraps. Aifa has formed a wraps working group; holds regular discussions with the FSA on market developments; and has published a guide to wraps as an aid for our members. We want to help members understand the benefits that wraps bring to their businesses and their clients and these seminars cover how to operate these models.”
