Aifa launches business transition programme

The Association of Independent Financial Advisers has today announced the launch of its business transition programme, developed to help firms meet the demands of the retail distribution review.

The first stage of the joint project with Skandia, an e-academy, will launch in early July.

A steering group has appointed financial services consultancy NMG to deliver the programme.

The steering group includes Baigrie Davies director Amanda Davidson, Helm Godfrey head of employee benefits Roger Sanders, Origen managing director Stephen Greenstreet, Aifa director general Chris Cummings and Skandia chief marketing officer Giles Elliott.

AIFA director general Chris Cummings says: “The online academy will launch at the beginning of July and the first phase will include a tool to help firms conduct a self-assessment on what they need to do to prepare for the RDR. This will help shape the online academy and the events we will run around the country during the second half of 2009.

“The business transition work will allow members to prepare their firms for the post-RDR world. We are determined to support our members to make a smooth and successful transition and ensure the IFA profession becomes bigger and better than ever.”
