The online business academy, developed in conjunction with Skandia, aims to enable IFA firms to meet the demands of the retail distribution review.
The first phase, available for Aifa members, is a tool that will allow IFA firms to begin assessing their business and planning for the transition.
The tool will ask members questions on subjects ranging from business strategy through to client segmentation and servicing. Once completed, the online business academy will generate a business action plan.
This will help businesses assess their current status and map the activity needed to become an RDR ready organisation.
The main launch for the complete online business academy will take place in September 2009.
Aifa director general Chris Cummings says: “For many IFAs the FSA’s proposals endorse the journey toward higher standards of professionalism, more transparent remuneration, and client focus they had embarked upon. These steps will build greater embedded value in IFA businesses.”
