AHIPPs deputy director-general to head BSA’s new mortgage team

The Building Societies Association has recruited Association of Home Information Pack Providers deputy director-general Paul Broadhead to the position of head of mortgage policy.

Broadhead will head up the Association’s new mortgage policy team and joins the BSA in November 2008.

Although Broadhead has a history in mortgage lending, his most recent positions were in the development and rollout of Home Information Packs.

Broadhead was seconded to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as business change manager on the HIP programme. He was also the sole industry representative on the HIP Programme Board. Broadhead was most recently appointed deputy director general of AHIPP in March 2006.

BSA director general Adrian Coles says: “We were delighted by the strength of the candidates for this position, and even more delighted to be appointing someone with such relevant skills and experience as Paul. Paul has worked in a mortgage lender, within the civil service and for a trade association, and we very much look forward to welcoming him to the BSA when he joins us in November.”

Broadhead says: “I am delighted to accept the position of Head of Mortgage Policy at the BSA. In these extremely challenging market conditions building societies have a distinct message to convey. I look forward to raising the profile and promoting the distinctiveness of the sector across government and the media and fully representing societies’ interests in mortgages.”
