Insurer Aegon UK has today confirmed its involvement in the Seven Families protection campaign, which is set to launch next week.
The initiative, which was launched by the Income Protection Task Force in May this year, aims to boost awareness of the need for income protection. Aegon is the eighteenth provider to throw its support behind the campaign.
Aegon UK protection director Dougy Grant says: “We are delighted to be supporting this initiative to bring the value and importance of income protection to life by getting people to understand the benefits and peace of mind it could offer.
“As a provider we play a pivotal role in growing the income protection market through investment to create consumer awareness, so that advisers have innovative products to offer their clients and will feel compelled to do so.”
IPTF chairman Peter Le Beau says: “It is fantastic news that Aegon has pledged its support to the campaign. The project is due to launch next week and to have so much widespread support from across the industry, including consumer groups and intermediary firms is excellent.”
The campaign hit its £300,000 funding target in June this year, through provider and distributor contributions.
The following 18 providers have pledged support to the Seven Families campaign:
