Aegon makes its move into Czech life market

Aegon is to sell life insurance in the Czech Republic,having gained its licence from the Ministry of Finance last week.

Aegon plans to use tied agents and independent brokers to sell and distribute a range of products.

The life office will open branches in the biggest cities in the country. Aegon has been in the Slovakian life and pension market since 2003.

Chairman Donald Shepard says: “We are pleased with the opportunity to begin providing life insurance solutions to customers in the Czech Republic. This continues Aegon’s growth strategy in the important Central and Eastern European market.”
