Aegon in talks over Origen sale

Aegon is in talks with LEBC Group over the possible sale of IFA firm Origen.

Money Marketing understands that London-based Fenchurch Advisory Partners has been appointed to broker a possible deal.

LEBC Group is a national firm of IFAs and an appointed rep of Sesame. LEBC’s retirement arm, The Retirement Partnership, is run by former Origen head of retirement services Nick Flynn.

Aegon distribution board chairman Patrick Gale and LEBC chief executive Jack McVitie are understood to have met recently to discuss the acquisition.

An Aegon spokeswoman says the Aegon is considering a “broad range of options”. She says: “We are constantly reviewing the options for all of our businesses, and Origen is obviously part of that.”

LEBC Group was unavailable for comment.

  1. Whoever looks to buy this company – I hope they don’t pay too much for it. It appears to leak money faster than the Titanic. Poor management and complete lack of staff involvement. Maybe it needs a new, safer pair of hands to take control.
