Aegon brings D2C insurance arm under UK management

Aegon has brought its direct insurance arm, Aegon Direct Marketing Services, under UK management following a restructure of the insurer’s global business.

ADMS provides direct general insurance and protection products through a number of affinity partners.

Aegon marketing director Richard Dallas has changed roles and is now responsible for the management of ADMS.

Dallas was appointed in June last year as marketing director. The Aegon UK marketing team will now report into chief marketing officer David Macmillan.

The insurer says there are no plans to appoint a replacement for Dallas.

An Aegon spokeswoman says: “Richard Dallas will focus on the executive leadership of our protection businesses and expansion plans. This now includes the European arm of one of Aegon’s global product businesses, which is being transferred to UK management.”

Earlier this week, Aegon announced it was developing an online direct-to-consumer proposition for orphaned clients. The insurer says it also plans to make the service available for advisers to refer lower value clients they no longer wish to serve.
