Aegon Scottish Equitable has enhanced its online protection application process enabling advisers to get cover for clients immediately if the application is submitted online.
Advisers can now get standard or non-standard life, critical illness and income protection for their clients instantly when applied for online and a policy start date can be given up to 30 days after submission.
Aegon has also extended the time period to return a signed protection declaration from 30 to 60 days for all new cases and cases submitted after April 30 this year.
Head of individual protection marketing Rod McKie says: “We have made these changes to make the whole process of applying for protection quicker and smoother for both our IFA customers and their clients. A policy can now go on-risk immediately, subject to acceptance of course, from the requested start date.”
The Access to Medical Reports Consent Form will now be included in the data capture form and available from Aegon’s extranet.
Aegon will still require clients to sign and return the declaration to avoid non-disclosure.
McKie says: “By getting the client to sign the declaration and send it back to us we’re protecting the client the adviser and ourselves.”
