Aegon bolsters team

Aegon UK has appointed Feilim Mackle as director of individual business and Steve Clode as director of marketing and customer strategy.

It says Mackle will be responsible for leading its retail life and pension business, covering key product areas including personal pensions, self-invested personal pensions, individual protection and at-retirement solutions.

He joins from Royal Bank of Scotland where he was managing director of retail banking. He was previously UK sales director at Standard Life. Mackle replaces Peter Dornan, who becomes director of partnership and distribution development.

Clode will be responsible for brand development and marketing, including sponsorship strategy across all Aegon’s businesses. He was previously marketing director at Nationwide Building Society, where he developed its Proud to be Different positioning and award-winning TV campaign.

Aegon UK chief executive Otto Thoresen says: “I am delighted that two such high-calibre executives are joining Aegon and I look forward to working with them as we move ahead with our plans for the UK market.”
