Advisers say consumers will not be better off under RDR

Research from Pinsent Masons law firm has found that 65 per cent of senior executives who work in distribution do not believe that consumers will be better off when the Retail Distribution Review changes come in.

The firm asked 130 individuals who work in distribution whether they thought that the RDR, Money Guidance and personal accounts would deliver better outcomes for consumers and only 35 per cent agreed.

Respondents also thought that IFAs would be the biggest losers under the RDR with 59 per cent saying this, while 68 per cent thought the banks would be the biggest winners.
