A financial adviser has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a client.
David Jeffs was sentenced this week at Southwark Crown Court and given a life sentence with a minimum term of 24 years. He was also ordered to serve a concurrent sentence of six years on charges of fraud.
At the original hearing, David Jeffs was found guilty on both counts of murder and fraud by abuse of position. The court found Jeffs killed his client Roberto Troyan after he uncovered a £343,000 fraud, the proceeds of which Jeffs used to fund his own lifestyle.
Jeffs worked at HFM Columbus from 2009 to April this year having before worked for Carleton Independent Consultants.
In a statement HFM Columbus said: “This whole situation has been distressing for all concerned most especially for Roberto Troyan’s family and on behalf of all of us at HFM Columbus we would like to express our heartfelt condolences and sympathy.”
