Adviser confidence soars in mortgage market

Business confidence among brokers in the mortgage market has soared to its highest level for over two years, according to buy-to-let lender Paragon Mortgages.

Paragon’s financial adviser confidence tracking index, published this week, shows broker confidence hit 113.6 last quarter, its highest level since the first quarter of 1999 when it stood at 113.1.

Brokers expect mortgage business to shoot up 5.7 per cent during the traditionally slow summer months, a figure more than double the increase of 2.7 per cent achieved over the same period last year.
