Actuaries analyse pension transfers for brokers

Actuarial and pension consultancy Mark Lloyd & Co is dev eloping a transfer analysis service to help IFAs make informed decisions on pension transfers.

The firm believes the pension review has stop ped many IFAs from considering transfers as an option for their clients. It says IFAs are developing a “head in the sand” app roach which means they have being doing their clients a disservice as well as missing out on business opportunities.

It believes that the key to successful transfers is ensuring they are properly researched, thoro ughly analysed and well documented. As a result of dem and from clients, the firm has developed a software system that can produce a comprehensive rep ort that provides critical yields, illustrations and a built-in analysis of a client&#39s pension requirements.

Mark Lloyd & Co senior partner Mark Lloyd says: “We believe the service will enable IFAs to get comprehensive and well presented transfer advice prepared by a firm of actuaries at a very affordable price. For IFAs without G60 qualifications, this could open the door to new business opportunities.”
