Accessible designs

I agree whole-heartedly with a recent survey that the clarity and usefulness of most providers’ yearly personal pension statements (and the initial illustrations) leave a great deal to be desired.

Several years ago, I designed one for our own use and we transcribe on to it most of the figures from the provider’s illustrations. These have generally been well received by our clients as giving them a very much better idea of what a given level of contributions might provide at retirement.

Our custom-designed illustrations contain considerably less information than all the providers are required to provide but, as a streamlined version to be read alongside the standard versions, their value is inestimable. Alongside our illustrations, those produced by the providers are barely glanced at.

If any provider wishes to contact me for some design ideas, then, for a reasonable fee, I would not be averse to sharing them.
