A new company offering online training to help IFAs prepare for regulatory exams is launching this week.
Absolutely Training offers online courses for Financial Planning Certificate exams, Continuing Professional Development training courses and Cemap exams.
Assistance for FPC one goes live next week while levels two and three will be available later in the year. For year-long access to each level the fee is £140.
CPD training courses are available in three blocks, on financial planning, estate planning and trusts. Each of these costs £100 for a year. Cemap training also costs £100 for each of the three levels in that course.
Employers or networks will have the option to create bespoke training courses for their staff through the service.
Absolutely Training includes interactive lessons, on-line exercises, full practice testing, live tutorials, feedback and a 24-hour telephone helpline for assistance.
The company has been founded by managing director Paul Fegan, business development director Lisa Clement, course development manager Shaun Walsh and IT director Carl Crisostono (all pictured left. All have a background in education and finance.
The funding comes from private investors following a share issue at the end of 2000.
Absolutely Training business development director Lisa Clement says: “What we're trying to do is to educate the IFAs and also organisations that employ IFAs.”
Institute of Financial Planning director of training and education Jackie Elliott says: “Anything that is made available in an easily accessible form is a good idea. The vast majorities of IFAs are online and are becoming increasingly financially literate so an idea such as this could provide assistance.”
