Abbey offers IFAs a hand through regulatory maze

Abbey for Intermediaries is sending out independent guides to help IFAs through the regulation maze.

Eighteen thousand intermediaries will receive the free guide, which is described as a “clear and straightforward outline” of how and when regulatory changes take place. It also covers the choices available to intermediaries and their likely affect on their businesses, with a section on the financial and practical implications of choosing a certain status. Abbey says it has produced the guide to allay fears and misconceptions as the deadlines to apply to become regulated draw nearer. It also intends to hold local roadshows on the issue.

Abbey for Intermediaries director Ambrose McGinn says: “The guide is designed to tell it like it is – it&#39s straight-talking, no nonsense and no agenda. This isn&#39t about persuading intermediaries to do things the Abbey way, its about helping them identify the right way for them and their clients, and helping them find the status which will make the most of their business.”
