90% of members happy with IFAP efforts

Nine out of 10 IFA Promotion members are satisfied with its efforts to promote the benefits of independent advice.

A survey carried out by IFAP last year revealed that 91 per cent of its members are happy with its work while 67 per cent say their membership represents good value for money.

The survey, which is based on written responses from 1,765 IFAP members, also shows that 82 per cent of consumer leads generated by the promotional body resulted in business for members.

Sixty-four per cent of members say the use of the blue £ sign is a key benefit while 85 per cent see it as the symbol of independent advice.

Chief executive David Elms says: “Despite stockmarket volatility and concerns around a number of financial issues, 2003 has proved to be IFAP&#39s best yet for providing our members with membership value. We generated over 330,000 new business leads for our members and continued to raise the positive profile of independent advice.

“The year ahead will be a challenging one for financial services and for the advisory market. However, we head into 2004 stronger than ever in the knowledge that we have members&#39 overwhelming support for the wide-ranging marketing programme that IFAP carries out on their behalf.”
