7IM hires ex-Credit Suisse investment boss

Seven Investment Management has hired Martyn Surguy ex-head of investment management at Credit Suisse UK London as chief investment officer. Previously, Surguy worked also as CIO, Private Wealth Management Division for EMEA at Morgan Stanley. He also spent 16 years at Morgan Grenfell / Deutsche Bank, latterly as CIO International and Head of Portfolio Management UK.

Previously, Surguy served as CIO of the private wealth management division for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Morgan Stanley. He also spent 16 years at Morgan Grenfell and Deutsche Bank, latterly as CIO for its international division and head of portfolio management in the UK.

7IM chief executive officer Tom Sheridan says: “[Surguy’s]
multi-asset background is a perfect fit for 7IM, whilst his experience of also managing equity portfolio management teams will bring additional expertise.”

7IM poaches from Coutts for new chief strategist

Surguy says: “Having spent most of my working life in the wealth management division of large integrated banks, the appeal of working for a smaller dedicated investment manager with a broad investment offering was huge.
