&#39IFAs must do more internet business&#39

Assuresoft says the vast majority of IFAs are taking the internet

seriously but they need to do more to make it generate business.

Assuresoft, provider of Assureweb, says its research indicates IFAs are

getting their act together on the web.

Nearly 93 per cent of respondents have access to the internet but so far

only 28 per cent have a website. Assuresoft estimates 70 per cent of IFAs

will have a website within the next 12 months.

But it says while an advertising site is a good start, IFAs could do more

to exploit the internet&#39s business potential.

Almost a half of all IFAs with websites receive enquiries but only about a

third generate business.

Assuresoft managing director Mark Lofthouse says this is an issue IFAs

need to address. He says: “Once IFAs have a presence on the net, the next

stage will be to get a transactional site.

“Once this is established, IFAs should look to developing sites with

lawyers, accountants and estate agents to build up a local community site.”
