1st – The Exchange records highest new business apps in January

1st – The Exchange has recorded its highest monthly new business figures for January, recording 30,806 online applications.

New business applications submitted to its Exweb service during January this year were 48 per cent up on last month, when 20,784 applications were submitted.

November 2008 saw 28,731, while October recorded 30,300. Total applications from February 2008 to January 2009 were 305,713, an 18 per cent increase on the year before, which recorded 258,812 applications.

The Exchange managing director David Child says: “We are delighted to announce yet another record breaking month in January. Whilst the world economy still proves challenging, the sustained increase in the usage of our ecommerce services proves there is still a growing need for independent financial advice.”


Sovereign risk is key structured issue

Jubilee Financial Products says the credit rating of a structured product issuer should be less of a consideration for advisers than the government that backs the bank.
