Steve Webb is absolutely right – UK pensions are a mess – but he is wrong in blaming charges.
It is a fact that there is a distribution gap and we as an industry are now down to about 22,000 advisers. But that is just semantics.
The pensions minister proposes today a 0.75 per cent cap on auto-enrolment pension scheme charges.
Nic Cicutti writes, and I quote - “The most important is that regulation, while onerous, is there to ensure the consumer feels safe.”
