Macquarie appoints Michael Hawker to board

Macquarie Group has appointed Michael Hawker to its board.
The former chief executive and managing director of Insurance Australia Group joins the board as a non-executive director.
Earlier this year Aviva appointed Hawker as an independent non-executive director.
Macquarie Group chairman David Clarke says Hawker will be based in London, but will travel regularly to Australia to attend board meetings.
He says: “Michael’s appointment will represent an important addition to the skill base of our board.”
