Former savings chief executive quits Standard Life

Former Standard Life Savings chief executive Geoff Towers is leaving the group at the end of March.

Towers moved into the role of category director established affluent last year as part of the group’s ongoing integration of Standard Life Savings into the main UK business.

In January, Money Marketing revealed that Standard appointed Ronnie Taylor as director of intermediary partner propositions, taking over responsibility for its platform from Towers.

A Standard Life spokeswoman says a replacement has not yet been decided because the group is still integrating SLS into the main UK business.

The spokeswoman adds: “Geoff’s time as chief executive was very successful building up the platform business. But he decided that his new role did not fit with his longer term plans so he decided to leave.”
