Schroders launches second fund on GAIA platform

Schroders has teamed up with Sloane Robinson to launch a second fund on its Global Alternative Investor Access platform.

The Schroder GAIA Sloane Robinson emerging markets fund will open to investors on June 30, 2010, within a Ucits III wrapper.

Sloane Robinson was founded in 1993 by Hugh Sloane and George Robinson and is a London-based asset manager in international equities outside North America.

The emerging markets team is headed by Richard Chenevix-Trench, who is the firm’s CIO and manager of the emerging markets and Asian portfolios. Sloane Robinson says its emerging markets fund has returned annualised returns of 25 per cent since 1996.

GAIA was launched in November 2009 with the Egerton European equity fund the first added to the platform.
