Pain quits FSA after shake-up
FSA managing director of supervision Jon Pain has resigned due to the regulatory shake-up.
Pain will carry on in his role until the FSA makes the transition to the new regulatory structure, which is expected to begin in January 2011.
Chief executive Hector Sants, who is to remain at the regulator to oversee the restructure and will also become a deputy governor of the Bank of England, says: “Following the announcement that the FSA will be split in 2012, Jon Pain has decided that there will not be a suitable role for him in the new structure.
“I fully understand his decision to look for a new challenge once the reorganisation is complete and wish him all the best for the future both professionally and personally.”
Managing director of risk Sally Dewar is also leaving the FSA early next year.
