Nigel Payne leaves Assurant Intermediary
Assurant Intermediary managing director Nigel Payne has left the company following a restructure of the business.
Sales and marketing director Kevin Paterson and chief marketing officer Jeff Unterreiner will now focus on developing new products and services for the intermediary market.
Assurant Solutions Europe president and CEO Mike Balsley says: “This decision enables us to align our management structure across Europe and we believe the common infrastructure now shared by our business units will further strengthen our position in all of our European marketplaces.”

A great loss for Assurant.
I hope the Americans do not come to regret their decision as much as I anticipate. Surely, Nigel Payne is too significant an influence to lose without any effect.
With such a long history of Nigel championing the intermediary to benefit providers - perhaps such we should all question whether this is another insurer making the first stage of a strategic move to pursue the direct rather than intermediary channel.
Does anybody interpret this decision as positive for the intermediary ?
Does anybody else think Protect Your Bubble may be bursting the bubble of the intermediary as far as Assurant are concerned ?

This anonymous commentis a graphic example of 'a little bit of knowledge', Because if they had bothered to look it up Protect Your Bubble has also been adapted as a broker tool for those intermediaries who take their e-marketing seriously but can't afford the time to sell Gadget, Travel or Pet insurance, our PYB for brokers adapts the site for intermediaries to drive revenue online through these low ticket items.
The principle aims and focus of Assurant Intermediary have not changed, in fact the European restructure strengthens our proposition. I think you are trying to find a conspiracy theory where none exists.
