MAS: Difficult to track healthcheck success

The Money Advice Service has admitted it is difficult to track what happens to consumers after they use its online healthcheck service.

The MAS has a total budget of £43.7m for 2011/12, paid for by a statutory industry levy. Of this budget, over £2m has been spent on the delivery of the online healthcheck.

Speaking at a Personal Finance Society RDR seminar in London last week, MAS policy lead Francis McGee said: “It is very difficult for us when people leave the online healthcheck with an action plan for us to then track what happens.

“That is something we are going to have to work at. We want to know where people go and how people landing with a business as a result of our action plan then get treated. There is work to be done on this to make sure it really works for the customer.”
