Hobbs sets up regulatory consultancy arm at Lansons

Former Beachcroft Regulatory Consulting managing director Richard Hobbs has joined Lansons Communications to set up a regulatory consulting arm.

The Lansons public affairs division is being rebranded as Lansons Public Affairs and Regulatory Consulting, where Hobbs joins as board director. He will work with head of public affairs Ben Abbotts and will bring his existing clients. Hobbs set up Beachcroft Regulatory Consulting in 2002 and left late last year.

He worked in the insurance directorate of the Department of Trade and Industry as director for the reconstruction of the Lloyd’s insurance market and was head of life and pensions at the Association of British Insurers.

Lansons chief executive Tony Langham says: “Relations with the FSA form a key part of the PR of almost every financial services company.”

Hobbs says: “This is the time to start up a regulatory consultancy with so much going on. Linking regulatory consulting to public affairs should appeal to clients.”
