FSSC publishes draft QCF 4 specialist standards

The Financial Services Skills Council has published drafts for the QCF level four specialist standards, as the Professional Standards Advisory Group signs off the final version of the core standards.

In August the FSSC published its draft core units and held a 12-week industry consultation period.

The core units, which cover financial services regulation and ethics, personal taxation and investment principles and risk, have now been finalised.

The FSSC has published drafts of the specialist standards, which include packaged products, securities and derivatives.

The drafts are on the FSSC website and are open for practitioner feedback until February 26.

The consultation process for these standards includes an online questionnaire and a nationwide programme of face-to-face events.

FSSC director for skills development Sarah Thwait says: “We want to thank everyone who took part in the core standards consultation and are keen to encourage practitioners now to share their thoughts on the proposed specialist standards. We are confident that the final agreed appropriate examination standards will be published in March 2010 as set out and agreed with the FSA, thereby fulfilling our role within the RDR project.”
