FSA hires ex-Pru director Tom Boardman
The FSA has appointed former Prudential director of retirement strategy and innovation Tom Boardman as its life insurance senior advisor.
Boardman has more than 35 years experience in the financial services sector having held a number of senior management and actuarial roles at Prudential. He also established the bancassurance operation at Nationwide Building Society and has provided consultancy to a number of financial services businesses.
FSA senior advisors form part of the regulator’s delivery of intensive supervision, providing experience on regulatory, market and consumer matters.
FSA chief executive Hector Sants says: “I am delighted to announce Tom’s appointment today as a senior advisor to the FSA. He has considerable experience to bring to bear on the regulatory changes and issues that we face in the insurance sector.”

Sounds like the FSA are soon going to be giving advice themselves. maybe thats their strategy.... shut all the small brokers and take on their clients themselves. :) I am joking (I hope)

No doubt the new appointment will have an increased salary package to go with it, the FSA have created an industry all of its own it will soon have more employees than there are IFA's .

Tom's a class act and will make a difference for all - including consumers. Good to see real experience and independence of thought being picked up by the FSA

I agree with Simons comments. Toms an expert in consumer behaviour and you only need to listen to him for a few minutes to realise he is an absolute authority in his field.
