FSA appoints investment banking senior adviser

The FSA has appointed Lazard & Co vice chairman Will Samuel as an investment banking senior adviser to the regulator.
Samuel qualified as a chartered accountant and began his career at Coopers & Lybrand, before working in a number of senior positions at Citigroup, formerly Schroders plc and Schroders Salomon Smith Barney.
He starts at the FSA today.
FSA chief executive Hector Sants says: “I am delighted to announce Will’s appointment today as senior adviser to the FSA. Will brings to his role considerable experience of the investment banking sector which will be vital to our work in this area.
“Senior advisers are a core part of the FSA’s delivery of intensive supervision. The team provides experience on regulatory, market and consumer matters.”
